Easy & Delicious Rum Cake

  • boxed yellow cake according to directions on the box EXCEPT substitute half of the water with rum
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Glaze:
  • ¼ lb butter (1/2 cup)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup rum (you can use whatever liquor you want; whiskey, Limoncello, etc)

Mix a boxed yellow cake mix according to directions on the box EXCEPT substitute half of the water with rum.
Grease & flour a 12 cup Bundt pan.
Sprinkle ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts into pan.
Pour batter over nuts.
Bake according to directions given.
Cool cake & remove from pan.
Poke holes into cake with tooth pick.
Brush glaze over cake.
Glaze:
Melt butter in sauce pan.
Stir in water & sugar.
Boil 5 minutes – stirring constantly.
Remove pan from heat – stir in rum.
